Em um pequeno aquário localizado na ilha de Okinawa, trabalha Kukuru Misakino, uma jovem de 18 anos. Lá ela encontra Fuka Miyazawa, uma ex-idol que perdeu seu emprego em Tóquio e está desnorteada. Elas começam a passar os dias juntas no aquário, conhecendo melhor uma a outra, mesmo com a iminente crise financeira ameaçando fechar o estabelecimento. Em meio aos sonhos e à realidade, à solidão e à amizade, aos laços e aos conflitos, as duas amigas vão virar uma nova e brilhante página neste verão.

Fuka wanders off to Okinawa after quitting her idol job in Tokyo. There, she meets Kukuru, who is the director at Gama Gama Aquarium.

Fuka finds out why Kukuru is working so hard to keep the aquarium running. She’s asked to feed the penguins for an event, but things don’t go quite as planned.

With Grandpa out of town, Kukuru and Fuuka work together to feed and weigh the penguins. Kukuru notices something wrong with one of the penguins, and decides to call the vet, who is on maternity leave.
